red goes to your he(a)d Thursday, January 31, 2008 |

Today was red mufti day, the school's way to celebrate Chinese New Year. Ironic isn't it? Mufti also means Islamic Scholar, and as I've just discovered: "civilian dress worn by a person who is entitled to wear a military uniform". Okay, is it just me, or is ISB being influenced by its military surroundings? Much LOLs. Since today was also a Thursday, there was an assembly. Appropriately enough, the theme today (themes aren't always occurring) was Chinese New Year. There were decorations and such, the usual PowerPoint presentation, lion dance and fan-dancers (?). What was different this year, was two Caucasian guys singing a Chinese song (iono what it was). It was Yasmin and Vanessa's younger sibling, I'm not sure of his name, and presumably his friend. It was unique I'd guess, never seen and heard two non-Chinese people attempt a Chinese song before. Apparently they sung it quite well, to my ears.

Agh, I couldn't get round to getting signatures for my CAS sheet ><" I hope I'd get it done somehow and SOON. OH, since I'm not going to the swim meet tomorrow, I can finally stay up at Nini Anggerek's later WOOO. Pfft, it's only a few extra hours. Plus, dad might drag me and my bros home early as he usually does. Maybe he'll give some leeway tonight. James gave me Fight Club today, saying Shotaro's too much of a pussy to come over to my house this weekend with James to watch it. So I might watch it later with the cousins, or stay up really late and watch it. Although I did have an incident with my mum when watching Knocked Up in the middle of the night, it resulted in a massive lecture ¬__¬ So I might not do that.

So since I'm skipping the swim meet tomorrow, my weekend has unofficially started!

What am I doing this weekend? Well, there's a Pusat Bahagia CAS activity that I'm attending on Saturday (8am to 11:30pm!). Friday and Sunday I'd be free (I hope). I'm certainly going to avoid Sugar and Spice now, that place has a curse upon me. Every single bloody time that I've been there has been awkward! <(.___.<) I might ask her out, but I don't know where to take her. Brunei's so lacking in proper hang-out places, don't get me started on ranting about Brunei's inadequacy from a social perspective.

Nah, there you have it... a blog post. Although none of this was forced out hehe.

how are you? Sunday, January 27, 2008 |

I'm fine apparently. I feel different. As it turns out, she's been hinting something to me since (I don't know). I think it's great that we both know that we feel the same way about each other. At first I felt a bit guilty of not getting any of the hints, but I'm just like that. I honestly don't know where things would take on from here on. She's different from the others, I'll just get on with I have to do. It feels quite weird somehow. Maybe I was just oblivious to my own feelings. Well, at least I've resolve my mixed feelings for her and come up with the fact that I do like her. To put it simply, she likes me and I like her too.

Isn't that great? (In fact, I do thInk It's quItE cooL, If you gEt how I EmphAsIzEd your nAME, thanks for clarifying it for me)

Yes, I have to admit. It took some clarification from someone else, to finally understand.

I think that's all that I have to say regarding her, I hope we'd get along even better now :)

English essay for Tuesday. My creative juices seriously aren't flowing at this hour (Yeah, I'm not really used to staying up later than 10pm). However, it might be just the brain fatigue from the Maths worksheets that I've been working on for half of today. 750 words minimum, easy. I hope I'd do my homeworks sooner the week starting tomorrow.

I've been listening to a lot of The Mars Volta, Brian Eno, and Arctic Monkeys recently. Arctic Monkeys is seriously starting to grow on me. Galneryus, is a certain mainstay for me. I can play Struggle for the Freedom Flag now, (woo!). The Mars Volta is really interesting, Cicatriz ESP is what drew me into them. I heard of them through Sputnikmusic's Guitar forum. Hafiz, was playing this song to me one time (a Thursday perhaps?). Lets just say it was aural sex =P. Arctic Monkeys is certainly awesome to workout to, Teddy Picker and Red Light Indicates Doors Are Secured are my favourites. Brian Eno? He's the godfather of Ambient music. His album Thursday Afternoon has just finished downloading from Rapidshit (Rapidshare, okay.) but I don't know the freaking password! Delete... After how long I've waited for it. ¬_¬. Anyway, his Music for Airports album is what I have from him. Its certainly great as background music, lets you wind down and relax, as if in an airport with no one around you. I told Afnan to download the rest of The Mars Volta albums, along with Coheed and Cambria's discography. Its funny, I used to hate C&C. Now, I like them because they're prog (and I've listened to some of their songs before, and now realize they're awesome). I like prog, it's clearly shaped my tastes in music. I need Jazz Fusion in my collection, Macalpine Brunel Chambers (that I got through a Tony Macalpine torrent) CAB 1 &2 albums are quite good, but I still need more.

(big sigh)

These 4 days without blogging had purpose. What's meaningful has been said.

Ciao.

school and religion Wednesday, January 23, 2008 |

I feel OK. Just OK. I'm a little worried that my alternate Maths textbook isnt living up to my expectations. I think this is mainly because it doesnt really have any sort of reference towards the syllabus I'm doing. Fuck! I wish I had my real textbook with me! As for TOK essays... Friday's my friend, I'm sure Mr Powell would be too! (laughs)

I was at a dhikr/birthday function earlier, it obviously didn't help with preparing for the Maths test tomorrow. I'm not complaining, it was nice to have the usual talks with cousins Azim, Hadi, Syukri, Qawi (though he never says anything). Apparently Apiz was awesome enough to come by just when people started to leave. He wore a Metallica Kill 'Em All shirt, wise of him not to come earlier when the dhikr was still going on.

What is with Malays and Dhikr?

Seriously, I know plenty of Muslims in countries like Morocco, Egypt, Pakistan and UK. None of them knew what the hell dhikr was until we watched a documentary 'The Retreat'. Google is you're friend if you want to find out more about it, I'm not :P. Basically what I have against the practice of dhikr is, how useless it is. All it does is put you into this state of trance, making you feel all close to God. In fact, all that you are doing is letting you lose control of your body. This is achieved by the constant repetition of short sayings. It is scientifically proven. In actual fact, it doesn't matter what you repeat. It is the action of repeating what comes out vocally from your mouth constantly that does such things.

Dhikr is primarily a Sufi Muslim practice. The fact that Sunnis and Shi'ahs do it a little makes me wonder. From this, it is easy to say Malay Muslims are a mix of the Sunni and Sufi divisions of Islam. Whatever, I don't really care much about religion. This is ironic because I know more than the average person when it comes to such issues.

Nyah, there you have it. I don't really know how to sum up all this, so fuck it. =D

Cya!

scientists are evil Tuesday, January 22, 2008 |

Today was torture in 3rd and 2nd last period (I don't want to say that subject name, it pisses me off exponentially). I completely had no clue. I punched a door on my way out. I feel very determined to do my best on Thursday in Maths. My face is so chapped ever since the weekend. It feels so heavy with the constant reapplication of moisturizer. Adam thought I had a fucking sunburn. Something has certainly burnt it, must've been when I didn't use aftershave after shaving. I seriously do not know, my best bet is to keep dousing my face with moisturizer. I better fucking pass this Thursday. I am pissed off. Apologies for the inconsistency.

That is all,

Fucking boring post.

You didn't need to read it.

If you still need me to point this out, this is a rant.

Bye.

life has many opportunities Monday, January 21, 2008 |

I checked my e-mail today, it said I received a Friendster message from someone. Turns out, he's this guy called Aman. He's been looking for another guitarist to play with in his new band. Its clear that he has experience. He's been playing for 9 years... I feel so dwarfed hahaha! I'm talking to him on MSN now, getting to know each other and band formalities. Stuff like that.

On another note, PHYSICS TEST TOMORROW FOLLOWED BY A MATHS TEST ON THURSDAY!

I AM GOING TO DIE.

Ciao.

feeling like an adult Sunday, January 20, 2008 |

So today I went out to watch Cloverfield by MYSELF. I have to say, it was awesome! Less mature people wouldn't get much satisfaction from it though, my taste in films is rather peculiar for my age. Perfect example, I actually thought The Fountain was a really good film. The concept was really good, also was the message. However, it was very inconsistent despite the surely amazing visuals. Although the music was fucking repetitive. To be honest, I thought Penny Dreadful was potentially a really good slasher flick. What brought it down was how long it was, lack of another place of events, random speech and completely non-likeable characters.

So Cloverfield, all-in-all a great monster/blair witch project-esque film. I highly recommend giving it a watch. Try watching it alone (if you can handle it). It all adds to the experience of cinema. I know some of you would say I've turned into a fucking loner (laughs), but isn't it better to watch films without someone who you also need to pay attention to? I mean, watching a film is all about secluding yourself from the outside world into the realm the film brings you into.

After the flick, bought some credit and went back up to Solitude. I love going there, I feel so independent and posh (big cheesy grin). Not to mention sophisticated. Apparently I randomly met this guy who was having problems with connecting to Solitude's Wi-fi. I explained to him what could've went wrong. I would say as a "thank you", he gave me his password for the Wi-fi.

Wait a minute, does that mean Solitude changes their passcode EVERYTIME a user wants to connect? Or are they earning extra bucks for giving out the SAME passcode? Fuck! If it was the second thing, I could've kept that piece of paper with the passcode written on it that he gave me!

Anyway, while enjoying my Cafe Mocha and Chocolate Muffin Pa Iring and his family noticed me through the glass outside. I went out to greet them, I told them I was alone and they seemed very surprised. So I tried to cover my ass and say that I might meet up with some friends later. Much LOL's going through my mind at that time... (LOL, :D).

I finished up my food and drink and then realized I haven't contacted anyone to pick me up! Fuck, I used the headset on my (i)Phone (yes, hate me) so it looked like I was listening to music. Mind you, people hardly notice the rectangular mic attached on the right earphone cable (which is also placed near the mouth/chin). Therefore, as I was in a call people thought I was crazy! This was evident when I sat on the sofa in The Centerpoint's lobby. I was like, "Hello? Hello~?" and the guy on the sofa diagonal to mine gave me a glared look and started walking away frantically! I bought another coffee at Coffee Bean just before that. Do you know what impression people have when some guy with frizzy hair, holding a brown bag with a straw sticking out of it (and drinking from it) while seemingly listening to his mp3 player (but actually SOSing to be picked up) looks like? A bum! Hahahahahahah. I was wearing posh stuff though, FCUK shirt and Ecko jeans. So people my age didn't have the wrong idea (phew).

Nearly an hour passed by, I called my mum for some last hope. As things turned out, she was already on the way (yay). Later she arrived, went home and end of story.

Life's a ball, roll with it.

NEW CATS DAY |

Not that my family gets cats that often. So I was upstairs in my room figuring out where exactly to put the Cbox in the plethora of codes in the template, shortly my dad called me to go downstairs saying “Look at this, you'll like it”. Honestly, I thought it was just an article in a newspaper, or anything boring like that. Mind you, I have an obsession with cats despite the fact I have an allergy towards them. Anyway, enough text! Pictures say more than words!

Yes I do notice some pictures aren't rotated, but it'll ruin the whole photo booth effect :P
Plus, I'm a GUY and you don't expect us to do extra work just like that. Not to mention adding captions, do that yourself in your head :D

So most of these pictures are of the new kitten we got, and our existing cat named GoCat (the black and white kitty). Hopefully I'll post some pictures of the other two cats and their cribs soon ;)

Starting out.. |

Again,

Hey everyone, I used to blog about random shit.

Time to get back at it again. Its good practice for CAS diary (laughs)
